THE CIRCLE is an international Martial Arts tournament where sixteen countries will battle to earn the title of ‘the best team in the world’. From its first edition, the show will have an incomparable television broadcast that will reach millions of people around the world.
When the art of combat had not been yet channeled into a regulated sport, when there were no stadiums, rings or stands, a circle drawn on the ground marked the limits of the arena. Thus, the circle was a figure associated with fighting. Sometimes even the public themselves defined the perimeter, forming a human circle around the fighters.
Going back to those origins, THE CIRCLE has designed a ring inspired by that initial shape, merging tradition and XXI century developments to achieve a visually appealing and exceptional piece of engineering.
The circle symbolizes unity. For that reason, our championship goes beyond the individual contest. Winning is not enough anymore. Fighters must share their success. THE CIRCLE is a team-based competition where communion and group ties will be decisive to achieve the triumph as a country.
Each national team will be composed by three men and one woman. When two countries fight, the one with a higher score moves through to the next phase. Male fighters score one point each, whereas female fighters score two points.
THE CIRCLE gives women the leading role they deserve, concentrating a great deal of excitement on the outcome of their fight. In this tournament, women will be one of the keys for their team’s success.
Lightweight (-63Kg), Welterweight (-70Kg) and Middleweight (-80Kg)
There can be no team without leaders. Two coaches will take the responsibility of leading the group towards personal and athletic success. The coaches will be either renowned former fighters or successful trainers able to generate a seamless comradeship atmosphere to ride the team towards victory.
THE CIRCLE’s first season consists of eight spectacular events, the first one taking place in the city of Barcelona. These first four events will decide which teams qualify for the quarter-finals. Four countries will participate in each event, offering the public a total of eight vibrating fights.
Closing the circle of innovation, the tournament incorporates new rules designed to provide a combination of striking and takedown techniques appealing to the devotees of Martial Arts. Therefore, THE CIRCLE is more than just a sports event, it is a show devised to provide top entertainment for a broad audience. Are you ready to join us?
