We want to go a step further among Stand Up Martial Arts. We seek to give high striking freedom with the possibility of performing amazing throws and takedowns. Attractive rules for those who want to enjoy Combat Sports from an innovative point of view. The features are the following:
- 3 Rounds x 3 Minutes.
- 1 Minute interval between rounds.
A seven meters diameter ring designed and manufactured especially for THE CIRCLE.
- 10oz for Welterweight and Middleweight.
- 8oz for Lightweight and Bantamweight.
The day of the event, fighters must not weigh more than 3Kg above the upper limit of their weight class.
VALID FIGHTING TECHNIQUES:
Punches – Straight, Hook, Uppercut, Spinning Backfist.
Kicks – Low kicks outside and inside the leg, Calf Kicks, Front Kicks, Middle Kicks, High Kicks, Side Kicks, Back Kicks, Spinning Back Kicks, Jumping Kicks.
Knees – To legs, chest and head: Front Knees, Side Knees, Jumping Knees.
Sweeps – Leg sweeps.
Throws and Takedowns – Neck-toss, Hip-toss, Hip throws, Back Drop, Single Leg Takedown, Double Leg Takedown. Important notes: 1) It’s not allowed to place a knee on the ground. 2) Throws and takedowns are limited to three per round.
Clinch – active clinch allowed up to 3-5 seconds. Important note: Passive clinch will be immediately stopped by the referee.
Open hand strikes.
Strikes to the groin.
Throws that involve Joint Manipulation.
Throws and takedowns that involve laying a knee on the ground.
Kicks, strikes, throws and sweeps to the spine.
Attacking an opponent on the ground.
Taking the opponent’s back.
Attacking an opponent during a break.
The usage of offensive or demeaning language.
Strikes and kicks to the back of the head.
WAYS TO WIN:
Knock Out (KO).
Technical Knock Out (TKO).
Fighter verbally quitting.
Corner throwing in the towel.
Judges decision: the fighter with the most rounds won at the end of the bout is the winner).
To score a fight, the judges will take into account in descending order of importance:
- Knockdown / near KO.
- Number of clean hits and sweeps/throws/takedowns.
- Aggressiveness and effective defense.
- Control of the ring / controlling pace.
